Inclusion Calisthenics

Brandon Wise
M, T, W, R, F
The intent of this workshop is to get to the root of the beliefs, emotions, and values that prevent us from understanding and connecting with other people. We will work on building listening skills. We will identify the emotions underlying social disconnection and practice hearing and articulating a viewpoint opposite to our own. We will also take a stab at forming a deep human bond. Be warned this work will require that we poke at some sensitive topics and press on delicate spots in our hearts.

Cocktail Making

Steve Krahnke
Monday Only 7:45pm
This one day workshop provides a chance for experienced and inexperienced cocktail makers to enjoy making, drinking, and talking about cocktails. Cocktails have a long tradition in America, particularly in the 20th century, and can even be regarded as a kind of “art form” with craft bartenders inventing new drinks every day--many become part of the cocktail “canon” so-to-speak. The origins of each cocktail will be discussed including how they morphed into new, popular drinks. We'll be making 4 cocktails (1 non-alcoholic). Tips will be donated to MUUSA scholarship fund!

The only limitations will be your imagination! Bonus - You'll have a portable little project to work on all week. For you "I'm not crafty" types, I encourage you to give it a try. If nothing else, it'll be a relaxed and enjoyable time together. Everyone is welcome (over 13ish). No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided. Limit 15

Exploring Authentic Movement

Jessica Miller
T, R
In this workshop we will begin the exploration of listening to our bodies and allowing ourselves to move (or not move!) authentically, and ponder what that even means. We will explore themes of how societal norms taught us to move and how to listen to and honor our bodies' needs, desires, and deep wisdom. Through guided movement explorations, you will be invited to practice the roles of being a Mover and a Witness (whose role it is to help create a safe container for the mover). After movement explorations, there is time for processing through journaling and art-ing. No previous experience or skill is needed. ALL bodies are welcome as they are. How do YOU want to move through this world?
